Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli
Daniel Roseberry was appointed creative director of Schiaparelli in 2019, becoming the first American to lead a French couture house. He came to the role from eleven years at Thom Browne with no prior couture training. Like Elsa Schiaparelli herself, Roseberry works by taking a single cultural or artistic source and pursuing it through every element of a collection, producing bodies of work that sit as much in the register of art and ideas as in conventional fashion. The V&A exhibition Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art, which opened in March 2026 and spans the house's history from the 1920s to the present, includes Roseberry's work alongside Elsa's as a continuation of the same creative tradition.
