Curator's Note

A Christian Dior Boutique jacket by John Galliano, dating to the Autumn/Winter 2000–2001 ready-to-wear collection. The season, titled Fly Girl, centred on a highly commercial street attitude, combining denim, leather, visible hardware and decorative trims. Though this jacket was not shown on the runway, its cropped shape, mottled brown wool, violet blanket-stitch edging and gilt metal hardware reflect the collection’s mix of casual, logo-era dressing and luxury finish.
