Curator's Note

This two-piece suit is from Chanel's Métiers d'Art Pre-Fall 2019 Egyptomania collection, comprising a matching jacket and mini skirt in striped brown, black, cream and metallic fantasy tweed. The jacket is finished with a black collar, cuffs and hem trim, fastening at the centre front with striped enamel CC buttons, and features two front patch pockets with black pineapple-fibre trim. The skirt echoes the jacket with a black waistband and hem trim, finished with a blue and gold-tone Gripoix button. The coat version of this suit was seen on the Chanel Pre-Fall 2019 runway.
