This cream leather suit from the Spring/Summer 1998 pre-collection is an early example of Galliano’s interpretation of Dior’s New Look silhouette. The floral perforations and scalloped edges give the leather a broderie-anglaise effect. The high slit of the skirt reveals Chantilly lace beneath, which is a construction Galliano uses again in the Spring/Summer collection In a Boudoir Mood.

A two-piece leather suit comprising a fitted jacket and mini skirt

Made from perforated eggshell-toned lambskin
All-over floral cut-out motif
Perforated flap pockets at the waist
Front hook-and-eye closures
Knee-length skirt with a deep front slit
Visible silk underskirt with ivory lace trim beneath the slit
Both pieces lined in ivory silk
Perforated scalloped hems to both the jacket and skirt
