Curator's Note

This vest was presented on the Gucci Spring/Summer 2015 runway, look 8, designed by Frida Giannini. The collection was inspired by a 1970s bohemian mood, described in Vogue's review as "the love child of Jimi Hendrix and Ali MacGraw," mixing denim, kimono-print silks, and shaggy furs. Multicolour Mongolian lamb appeared across boleros and vests through the collection, rendered here into a patchwork of dip-dyed fur at the shoulders in cream, orange, and burgundy, set against a dark curled fur body and a metallic bullion-embroidered waistband. Nicole Phelps in her Vogue review named these pieces as collectibles in their own right.
