Curator's Note

From Swanky Modes, dating to around 1978. The asymmetric body-con sheath with open-sided construction, D-ring hoop closures and integrated choker strap is a strong example of the London label's experimental approach to cut and structure. This dress is part of the Victoria and Albert Museum's permanent collection; a red version was worn by Linda Kozlowski in Crocodile Dundee (1986).

Description

  • Asymmetric body-con sheath dress in midi length
  • High neckline with integrated choker-style strap
  • Open-sided construction with cut-out sections at shoulder, side body and back
  • Side openings secured with metal D-ring hoop closures
  • Fabric gathered into rings
  • Part of the Victoria and Albert Museum permanent collection
  • A red version worn by Linda Kozlowski in Crocodile Dundee (1986)

  • Fabric allows for significant stretch
  • Measurements are taken with the garment laid flat:
