Writing for Vogue, Sarah Mower called it one of Giannini's most confident collections so far and noted its references to hussars and to the folk textiles of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. This jacket combines both. It is cut like a military tunic, with a stand-up collar, epaulettes and crest buttons, and the central panel is embroidered with beads and patinated metal ornaments after Central Asian textiles. Bands of studded wool braid run on either side of the front, and black beaver trims the front edges and cuffs.
